Welcome to the Iwo Jima Legacy Project

Welcome Redditors and Facebook family members!

All proceeds are accepted by the Iwo Jima Association of America on behalf of Iwo Jima veterans to sponsor and support veterans’ attendance at the Iwo Jima Gala in Arlington, VA and the Reunion of Honor on Iwo Jima. Please donate today — there are fewer than 200 surviving Iwo Jima veterans, and we want to identify and support them while we still can. The Iwo Jima Association of America is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Funds are used for offsetting travel, providing travel nurses, lodging, meals, incidentals, and more. Any funds in excess of our goal will be used by IJAA for general purposes.

The Iwo Jima Legacy Project honors and preserves the legacy of those who served at the Battle of Iwo Jima.

We will:

Collect and store verified public service records, personal histories, photographs, and oral histories of Iwo Jima veterans.
Provide a searchable, mobile-responsive public portal for researchers, family members, and the general public.
Provide a publicly available interface for submission of profiles, historical documents, photos, and data.

We welcome you to participate by searching for your name or relative(s) here and updating their bios, photos, and stories.
